In a first ever, Routes 2 Roots enters into a tie-up with the American University for Global Peace (an
affiliate of the United Nations University for Global Peace) to further the initiative of spreading
peace and harmony through education. Under UNUGP special focus would be given to peace and conflict
studies in order to equip scholars and peace activists by cultivating the development of skills
necessary for global peace initiatives. Routes 2 Roots comes in as a critical link in the initiative
with its ongoing programs on promoting global peace through the spread of education of art, culture and
heritage.
Through this collaboration Routes 2 Roots furthers its objective of spreading peace and brotherhood
through culture and education, which the NGO has propagated for over two decades through its
initiatives, concerts, student exchange programs and cultural education program. The NGO has
disseminated education through its customised infrastructure among over 20 million students in India and
many beneficiaries globally (in collaboration with ICCR - Ministry of External Affairs, Government of
India) through its partners in more than 75 countries.
Along with the Indian chapter of American University for Global Peace, Routes 2 Roots aims to not only
widen the impact of its initiative but also implement the new Indian Knowledge System (IKS) through its
centres worldwide. This would include imparting cultural education through its rich pool of instructors
who are leading exponents of Indian art forms from across India. This will be done further in line with the
National Education Policy 2020.
This tie-up will strengthen the objectives of both the organisations, furthering their aim in creating a
peaceful global climate.
