In March, Routes 2 Roots embarked on an inspiring journey, bringing
creativity, cultural awareness and skill development to students
across India through its transformative ‘Bagless Days’ initiative.
This program engaged students from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas
(JNVs) and Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) in various states, including
Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Mizoram. The
initiative’s hands-on activities were designed to stimulate
creativity and introduce students to diverse forms of artistic
expression.
Among the vast array of activities were pottery, kite-making,
greeting card design, clay modelling, pot decoration, bookmark
crafting, face mask making and origami. These sessions allowed
students to unleash their creative potential while simultaneously
honing essential 21st-century skills. Furthermore, students
participated in career guidance workshops, which empowered them with
valuable insights and skills to navigate their future careers. They
also explored important citizenship skills, fostering a sense of
social responsibility and active participation in their communities.
Beyond these enriching activities, Routes 2 Roots provided students
with the opportunity to immerse themselves in India’s vibrant
cultural traditions through art and artistic sessions. These
sessions featured classical dance forms such as Kathak and
Bharatanatyam, as well as contemporary freestyle dance, providing
students with the opportunity to experience the rich tapestry of
India’s cultural heritage. These cultural engagements not only made
learning enjoyable but also equipped students with essential life
skills, providing them with a deeper understanding of India’s
artistic diversity.
Routes 2 Roots continues to cultivate well-rounded individuals by
creating meaningful educational experiences for young learners
nationwide, nurturing their creativity, cultural awareness and
overall development.
