Routes 2 Roots has long been committed to promoting cultural
exchange and supporting artistes. Its two-decade-long journey has
included numerous musical concerts, theatre festivals, film
festivals and art exhibitions both in India and abroad. One artist
consistently supported by the NGO is Bhaskar Singha, a talented
Delhi-based visual artist renowned for his remarkable paintings and
drawings.
On 21st March, the NGO’s founder, Rakesh Gupta, inaugurated a group
exhibition at the AIFACS Gallery in Delhi. The exhibition showcased
a collection of paintings and drawings by Bhaskar Singha, among
other notable artistes. The event was marked by the traditional
lighting of the lamp and interactions with artistes from various
parts of India, reflecting Routes 2 Roots' dedication to
fostering artistic collaboration and appreciation.
Distinguished guests in attendance included Biman B. Das (President
of AIFACS), Sushma K. Bhal (Curator and Writer), Ashok Bhowmik (Art
Critic and Writer), Shekhar Jhamba (Director of Creative Art
Gallery) and Jony M.L. (Curator). The exhibition in Delhi was just
the beginning—Singha’s works will soon be featured in a solo
exhibition at the prestigious Jehangir Art Gallery in Mumbai in
April 2025.
