April heralded the commencement of the new school sessions with students joining their new grades and gearing up
for the year’s curriculum. They were welcomed into the new session with Routes 2 Roots cultural workshops
designed not just to teach them about different art forms but also give them the mental rejuvenation to sharpen
their minds and deal with their academic curriculum with focus.
In Haryana Hindustani Classical Vocal workshops were held in Manesar, Odissi workshops for students in Kadarpur
and Bharatnatyam workshops in Gurugram, Sohna Road. Routes 2 Roots gurus conducted intensive training sessions
in the different disciplines to orient students about these art forms.
Schools of Jammu & Kashmir were regaled with Bharatnatyam workshops where lecture, demonstration and training
sessions were carried out for students of Srinagar, Humhama, Bandipur, Baramulla, Uri, Awantipur, Aminoo,
Pahalgam, Bhadarwah, Doda Jodhpur, Kishtwar, Udhampur, Jindrah, Jammu, Rahya Suchani, Miran Sahib, Bantalab,
Damana, Akhnoor, Sunjuwan, Jourian, Sunderbani, Samba and Jyotipuram.
Hindustani Classical Vocal workshops were conducted by gurus in schools of Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Bhunga,
Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Suranussi, Amritsar and Faridkot, while Kathak sessions were held in Adampur, Mohali,
Chandigarh, Khanpur, Ropar, Dapper, Fatehgarh Sahib, Nabha Cantt, Ubhawal and Bhatinda in Punjab.
