Max India Foundation has been supporting the cultural education program of Routes 2 Roots bringing
strength to the movement meant to enhance the development of the school-going youth of India. As part of
the program, various schools from across Punjab have been receiving the digital classes and workshops
from the gurus of Routes 2 Roots throughout the year completely free of cost. The program gives them the
opportunity to learn from teachers who are leading exponents of art forms.
As part of this initiative, Routes 2 Roots sent in their guru Bharatnatyam exponent Varun Khanna, who
curated, choreographed and trained the girls of Government Meritorious School in Mohali for Toppan’s
annual function, where the students performed two pieces. The whole presentation was a coming together
of North and South India as the choreography celebrated both the Kathak as well as the Bharatnatyam
dance forms and depicted the merging of the two beautifully. A look at some moments from the
performance.
