Routes 2 Roots runs specialised workshops conducted by artistes of classical and folk art forms as well
as experts in other life enhancing skills for the PM Shri schools. These are intensive sessions, which
are often residential in nature and involve in-depth training of students lasting a few weeks, as the
visiting experts and exponents stay at the campus for the duration of the workshops. These workshops are
designed with different activities for the betterment of the students and to enhance their development.
The activities are not limited to bag-less days, art and culture; they are not just workshops but almost
residential programs that run for weeks. They not only release stress and cut the monotony of students
but also instil a sense of achievement, skill-enhancement and fun.
December’s bag-less days included handicraft & folk art, cyber safety awareness programme, citizenship
skills and constitutional knowledge, art & culture (Indian classical dance and music), 21st century
skills, self-defence programmes for girls, career guidance and counselling, girls’ adolescence
programme, yoga, Indian Knowledge System (IKS), Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) and sessions on environment
awareness. These were conducted in schools of Assam, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Uttarakhand,
Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Jammu & Kashmir.
