The World Human Rights Organisation honoured Routes 2 Roots Founder Rakesh Gupta through the Global
Peace & Humanity Award 2025 for the exemplary work done by the NGO over the last two decades for
promoting peace through cultural exchange. Since 2004, Routes 2 Roots has organised hundreds of music
and dance concerts, theatre and film festivals, student exchange programs, art exhibitions and other
forums to promote art and culture from India overseas and bring global artistes to Indian soil. All of
these have been curated and organised free of cost with the singular objective of bringing cultural
harmony by spreading awareness about the diversities of different regions and countries through their
art and music. Over the last nine years, the NGO has also built and successfully run the world’s largest
cultural education program across India, teaching Indian heritage to over 20 million school going
students to bring about a cultural revolution in the country and raise cultural tolerances among them. This
award is among various others received to recognise the path-breaking work done by the NGO in the years
gone by through its relentless efforts and unstoppable spirit to contribute greatly to humanity through
peace initiatives. The award was presented at the prestigious India International Centre, Delhi by Shri
Harsh Malhotra, Minister for State, Corporate Affairs and Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for
World Human Rights Organisation, India and Belgium.
