In February, Routes 2 Roots engaged students across India through
dynamic and creative activities to enhance their skills and broaden
their horizons. Schools from all corners of the country, including KV
Shahdara (Delhi), JNV Chamoli (Uttarakhand), JNV Varanasi (Uttar
Pradesh) and KV NSG Manesar (Haryana), participated in the exciting
"Bagless Days" initiative. These hands-on sessions allowed students to
escape traditional classroom settings and immerse themselves in fun
and educational experiences.
The students participated in various creative workshops, such as
pottery, kite-making, greeting card-making, clay modelling, pot
decoration and candle-making, fostering their artistic talents.
Activities like sewing and embroidery, tie-dye and origami helped
hone their fine motor skills while sparking their imaginations. But
the fun didn’t stop there! Students also explored their expressive
side through art forms such as Kathak, Bharatanatyam and freestyle
dance, bringing culture and tradition to the forefront.
In addition to the artistic activities, the program offered valuable
sessions on 21st-century skills, career guidance counselling and
citizenship skills, empowering students to navigate their futures with
confidence. These "Bagless Days" were more than just a break from
routine—they were an exciting journey of self-expression, creativity
and personal growth that left a lasting impact on all those involved.
