Routes 2 Roots is dedicated to making the educational experience inspiring
meaningful and inclusive for students. The NGO’s initiatives are designed and
specially curated to bring news facets of Indian culture and art forms to the fore and
create experiences that are both educational as well as exciting.
The first residential Art camp of Routes 2 Roots was organised with the support of
Max India Foundation (MIF) on 23rd, 24th and 25th August, 2025. Max India
Foundation has played a vital role in buoying the efforts of Routes 2 Roots in
providing cultural education and taking it beyond the classroom and textbook
experience through state-of-the-art technology and teachers who are prolific in their
respective fields of arts.
This camp was the first in a series being organised by the NGO, which plans to
organise these residential sessions across India. It is an initiative aimed at
enhancing education through innovative, creative learning concepts curated to give
the students an interactive and unique experience of living and learning with artistes.
It was designed to provide meaningful opportunity to students who have an
inclination towards art or the potential to learn, explore and express themselves
artistically. The residential camp served as a platform to promote artistic expression
and creativity among students in an environment which encouraged interaction and
inspiration through direct engagement with senior artistes. One of the key focus
areas at the camp was to enhance critical thinking, sensitivity, and aesthetic
awareness.
The 3-day camp was conducted by Mr Bhaskar Singha, a leading painter who has
held exhibitions across the country. He along with senior artistes Kangkan Barman,
Gautam Partho Roy, Ganga N Maharana, Anoop Kumar Srivastava, Sanjeev Kumar
Singh and Santanu Sarkar conducted the workshops and activities for students who
were divided into different groups for learning.
The workshops and learning sessions were interspersed with meals at the mess of
the 27-acre Panchsheel Balak Inter College campus where the camp was held.
Students had a wonderful time exploring the vast campus, the residential buildings
where they stayed over the weekend with their teachers, the play grounds and fields
where the students spent ample time doing Yoga, playing on swings and playing
games with each other. The paintings made at the camp were showcased at an
exhibition organised especially for the students, attended by students of 18 different
schools on 25th August at the Auditorium of the campus. The paintings were gifted to
the schools, which the students belonged to. The participating students were also
given certificates of appreciation for their participation in the camp.
This camp was completely free of cost for students with the magnanimous support of
our donor Max India Foundation (MIF).
